How to Price Your Photography

selling photography

We had a great meeting tonight! John Aitken from Aitken Photography in Syracuse came up to Watertown for a “Pricing Powow.” The room was packed with some regular members and some of the Syracuse PPSNYS group members as well.

The first part of the meeting was reviewing our “Summertime” monthly challenge. Group members had submitted slides with some of their recent photographs depicting summertime.

John was the next to speak. He showed some of his amazing work with high school seniors, and discussed how he creates his senior experience. He reviewed his product guide that is set up how he sells, and discussed improving our sales sessions. He gave us an in-depth look at his style guide and pricing guide, and went product by product to discuss where he gets his items, how he sells them for high prices, and how he keeps his clients coming back for more. Want to learn more about the details he shared? Come meet with our group and join our NNYPP private Facebook group. Our detailed notes about how exactly John sells product, the labs he uses, and more strategies to improve your photography business are right there. I know that my business will benefit from the information he shared. I'm already planning out my new product guide and looking into some awesome products :)

As John says, “Don’t just give your photography clients a quality product . . . give them an incredible experience.”

He also reviewed his photography studio setup and how to create a studio that rocks for senior photography sessions
